Association
PVCSA (Pleasantview Community Safety Association) situated in the north east end of Toronto was formed by its residents in February 2024. Our area is well-established and diverse with residents of all ages. Even though the area remains one of the safest areas in all of Toronto, we have been impacted by three of the GTA's (Greater Toronto Area's) growing crime concerns since 2023: Vehicle theft, Break and Enter and Fraud. Our residents and founding members of PVCSA felt it necessary to take a proactive step in dealing with these concerns in order to reduce or prevent occurrences in our area and, as a result, maintain and/or increase the level of safety that we all have come to expect and enjoy in our community for several decades.
With the help of city staff, the PVCSA was created with the following goals:
1) Creating a greater awareness of the current crime trends that are impacting the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and that are also impacting the Pleasantview Community.
2) Learning about and sharing high-yield strategies that can help prevent or reduce these crimes in the community.
The PVCSA founding members reached out to Toronto Police Services (33 Division), city staff and our area counsellor for assistance in organizing a meeting in order to meet our goals.
On March 19, 2024, The PVCSA held its inaugural Community Safety meeting at the Pleasantview Community Centre at 545 Van Horne Ave. to inform the community about concerns residents were feeling and experiencing with respect to the three criminal activities increasing in Toronto and in our area. P.C. Joel Roberts (Community Safety Officer from 33 Division) presented to a packed room of almost 200 residents about vehicle theft and home security. At the end of the session, area residents were eager to create a Neighbourhood Watch Program that could further increase the safety of the Pleasantview Community and meet the goals set out by the PVCSA.
A smaller sized working group was formed to work on a plan for a Neighbourhood Watch Program and now meets at the Pleasantview Community Centre to plan its next steps.
All area residents are welcome to join the PVCSA and can be involved in any way they can to help out. Membership is free. All members receive weekly updates of PVCSA which can include important community information about crime trends in the area, PVCSA events/meetings at the Pleasantview Community Centre, Toronto Police Services announcements from 33 Division and their special events. Since March 19, 2024, the growing number of members have shared important information that then gets shared with the group to increase awareness and safety of all in our community. In this way PVCSA is aiming to create a larger network of area residents who want work together to maintain and increase the level of safety and enjoyment for all those living in the Pleasantview area.
We invite area residents to join the PVCSA and to inform your neighbours about us. Please send us an email at pvcsa545@gmail.com to request that your email be added to our confidential distribution list.
PVCSA is dedicated to building awareness, providing safety information, working with the police, and creating a strong and safe community for residents of all ages. We are committed to fostering a secure environment where every member feels protected and valued.

Neighbourhood Watch Initiatives
